By January 2015, I\u00a0realized this job was a very poor fit for me. After a few more months, knowing that I wouldn\u2019t\u00a0grow to enjoy this type of work, I left First Command to search for a full-time role that was a\u00a0better fit for me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">My biggest challenge was identifying a role that fit my interests and abilities, and then creating\u00a0a tailored resume for those positions. During this time, I partnered with over a dozen transition\u00a0assistance programs. While most delivered some assistance that was helpful, all fell short of the\u00a0promises offered.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Once I partnered with Hire Heroes USA, I felt I was working with an organization that was truly\u00a0interested in guiding me through the transition process. My Hire Heroes USA Transition\u00a0Specialist helped me build a high quality resume. Once I had an interview, he coached me on\u00a0interviewing techniques and followed up with me during every step of the process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Hire Heroes USA was the only transition assistance program that fully delivered on its promises.<\/strong>\u00a0I credit much of my success to my Hire Heroes USA Transition Specialist, who helped me land\u00a0my current job as a Functional Analyst with General Dynamics. He spent many overtime\u00a0hours coaching me \u2013\u00a0even over holidays and during his travels \u2013\u00a0and, he regularly checked in to\u00a0follow up with me.
