I transitioned out of the Navy back in 2003\u00a0and had been working in financial services until about two years ago, when I found\u00a0myself out of work. Even after eight years in the field, I was having a very difficult time\u00a0transitioning to another position within the financial services field.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It was my Veteran Transition Specialist\u2019s (VTS) in-depth understanding of the hiring world\u00a0which kept my spirits up. The resume was very helpful, but <strong>I really appreciated the time\u00a0he took to talk to me and give me advice. He treated me more like a friend and less\u00a0like a client.<\/strong> He also recommended that I do a few mock interviews. The volunteer mock\u00a0interviewer was knowledgeable and prepared me for any possible situation that could\u00a0come up in my interview, which was an enormous benefit. I felt extremely confident and\u00a0ready to make a great impression.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">For some time, I thought I would have to \u201cstart over\u201d and go back to college. My VTS\u00a0helped me keep my eyes on the prize and I eventually found myself in another career, not\u00a0just a job. Now I\u2019ve relocated to the Pacific Northwest for this amazing opportunity!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There are plenty of nonprofits out there that don\u2019t do what they say they\u2019ll do, then leave\u00a0you in the dust. <strong>Hire Heroes USA is the real deal, and I\u2019ve been sharing my experience\u00a0with everyone.<\/strong> I can\u2019t wait until I\u2019m successful again and can give back to this amazing\u00a0organization!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hired as an Account Executive in Seattle, WA United States Navy, E-5, Personnelman I was not the typical Hire Heroes USA client.
